SEEING ROMA
My brother took my wife and me to Rome. He organized the trip, hotels, galleries, restaurants, etc. We also went to Florence, Naples, and Venice.

We saw Renaissance Art, ancient Rome,
real Rome and real Italy.
My brother is not a tour guide. Legally there are many requirements. He goes to Italy and has found others like
the way he sees the country.
He travels with six to ten people. Less than six is too intimate.
More than ten is too cumbersome. We were seven.
We became a troop.
We still e-mail each other.
My wife's hairdresser went with us
now her hair appointments last two hours.
You will go to art galleries, churches with art works, historic sites, religious sites. You will eat in real Italian cafes, trattorias, and restaurants and stay in real Italian hotels. Did I say you? I meant we. We will go to these places. We will go there on streets you would seldom see, we would seldom see.
What do you have to do with it?

Artists of note: Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi, Borromini, Brunelleschi, Cambio, Ghiberti, and also Michelangelo, Raphael, DaVinci, Bottocelli, Bernini. 

Memorable places: Pantheon, Villa d'Este, Pancrazio and the death of Julius Caesar, Cathedral of Florence, Borghese, Uffizi, Santa Maria Maggiore, All of Florence,  Anywhere in Venice, St. Peters, David, Moses, Forum, Sistine Chapel,  Raphael Rooms, Amalfi,   Coliseum, Positano, Piazza Navona. Amalfi, St. Marc's, Music at 5:00, Santa Maria del Popollo, San Luigi dei Francesi
